Ishikawa
Ishikawa Prefecture is located in central Hokuriku on the Japan Sea side of Honshu, featuring an elongated north-south terrain. The northern Noto region encompasses a peninsula blessed with rich satoyama-satoumi landscapes, preserving traditional scenes like Wajima Morning Market and Shiroyone Senmaida rice terraces. The southern Kaga region contains Kanazawa, the castle town of the million-koku Kaga Domain, where Kenrokuen Garden, samurai residences, and modern architecture harmonize. The coastline extends approximately 580km, and winter brings peak season for Japan Sea delicacies like cold yellowtail and snow crab. The opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen enables direct access from the Tokyo metropolitan area, leading to a surge in domestic and international visitors. The prefecture actively preserves sustainable culture and nature, including World Agricultural Heritage "Noto's Satoyama and Satoumi" and UNESCO Creative Cities Network registration.
