A crossbred variety born in Kumamoto in 1972. Only fruits meeting strict standards of 13+ degrees sugar content and below 1 degree acidity can be called Dekopon. Easy to peel with abundant juice, it's a souvenir favorite. After winter harvest, fruits are stored to reduce acidity before shipment.
